I just got out of the hospital. My husband didn't eat all the bananas I had left. How do I freeze them for further use, making banana bread etc.

I have several times, just be ready to use them, they will be really soft and hard to handle after thawing

You can definitely freeze them, but it's best to peel them first. For a really yummy alternative to ice cream you can freeze them (peel them first though!) then add some coca powder and mash them up until it looks like ice cream! It's really delicious and much healthier that actual ice cream.

Hello - my suggestion is that you peel the bananas before freezing. I have a small banana garden, and when we get a 50lb regime, we often can't eat them before they go overripe. Peel them, put them in freezer ziplocks, and then use at your leisure for banana bread, banana shakes, or whatever.

Uncooked bread dough. I have to go to services for my grandmother this weekend. Can I make the bread dough on Thursday and freeze and then put in loaf pan on Saturday morning to rise and bake? Like the frozen bridgefords stuff you get in stores?
Thanks for the help Dawn |

Thank you, just the question I needed an answer for. I grew up with a mom who would not eat her bananas until the skins were almost black, knowing that that is when they are at they're sweetest. Now I feel thats a bit much, but I do hate tossing them just cuz I'm not able to cook with them right now. Just never heard of if freezing would be ok. glad to know. PAT FROM sEATTLE
